Congratulations to the Indian cricket team for pulling off a commendable win against Pakistan at the 20-20 world cup. This has been the dream of every Indian cricket fan - India in a world cup final against Pakistan, and they win the cup! It was one grand finale that everyone in every household in India would have watched. The match definitely had everyone's blood pressure soaring high. But after a nail-biting last-over it was wonderful to see Dhoni and his Men in Blue lift the 20-20 world cup making all Indians proud. It was a moment every Indian cherished and will continue to cherish for a long time.

It was wonderful to see people rejoicing, shouting and bursting crackers all over India (thanks to the 24-hour news channels…) celebrating India's victory. After 24 long years, Indian cricket fans finally have another wonderful reason to celebrate.

India's consistent performance throughout the series is commendable and they definitely deserve the trophy. The Indian team must be so relieved especially after their early exit in the 2007 World Cup. This win has re-energized the Indian team and has made the India fans elated. Though there have been discussions in the media on how 20-20 will change the way cricket is played, because of India's victory in the final all cricket purists seem to have accepted this exciting new format.

We all know cricket is like a religion in India. Irrespective of caste, religion, social class etc., the enthusiasm and energy that cricket brings into every household is amazing. Cricket is the only thing that can bring India together that no other game, issue or sentiment can. We want the Indian team to keep up their winning spree and hope they continue to keep their fans in the same spirit.
